
HAI Honored at the 2026 Volkswagen Group Award
Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) was honored by the Volkswagen Group for its sustainable material solutions, transparent CO₂ data, and high process transparency throughout the value chain.
Ranshofen (July 8, 2026) – Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) was honored at the 2026 Volkswagen Group Award ceremony held at Autostadt in Wolfsburg. HAI received the award for enabling sustainable material solutions through transparent CO₂ data, high process transparency, and close collaboration along the value chain.
The award was presented on June 24, 2026, by Stefan Mecha, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, to HAI CEO DI Rob van Gils. With this award, Volkswagen recognizes HAI’s role as a reliable partner for sustainable material solutions and resilient supply chains in the automotive and transportation industries.
CO₂ Transparency as the Foundation for Sustainable Material Decisions
Through its developments in the SustainAl initiative, HAI aims to make sustainable aluminum solutions commercially available while simultaneously providing customers with a solid basis for decision-making. Transparent CO₂ data, traceable processes, and close coordination along the value chain support the scalable implementation of sustainable material concepts.
