HAI Group at ALUMINIUM 2026 in Düsseldorf

Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) used ALUMINIUM 2026 in Düsseldorf as an opportunity for an in-depth discussion on the future of the European aluminum industry. The focus was on the circular economy and aluminum recycling as key factors for resilient supply chains, security of supply, and Europe’s industrial sovereignty.

Ranshofen (October 14, 2026) – From October 6 to 8, 2026, the international aluminum industry gathered at ALUMINIUM in Düsseldorf, the world’s leading trade fair for the international aluminum industry.

Discussions at the booth revealed that, in addition to sustainability and cost-effectiveness, reliable delivery performance continues to gain importance for customers. To this end, HAI has spent years building resilient supply chains and strategically developing its value creation.

Combining Sustainability and Delivery Reliability

With SustainAl, the HAI Group is pursuing a long-term strategy for aluminum solutions with a particularly low carbon footprint. A high recycling rate, targeted metal management, and diverse sourcing channels reduce emissions while simultaneously strengthening supply security and delivery reliability.

“Our strong commitment to sustainable aluminum solutions under the SustainAl brand is an approach that not only makes sense from an environmental perspective today but also gives us a strong market position in terms of our on-time delivery performance. For our customers and partners, predictability and reliability are key. Combined with our innovative aluminum products and our exceptional vertical integration, the HAI Group offers an attractive overall package,” explains Rob van Gils, CEO of the HAI Group.

Through casting, extrusion, and processing, the HAI Group covers key steps in the value chain itself. As a result, the circular economy is not viewed in isolation as a sustainability issue, but rather as an integral part of a long-term industrial strategy.

Recycling as a Building Block of Industrial Sovereignty

The close interconnection between recycling, raw material supply, and industrial resilience was also discussed at the ALUMINIUM Conference. CEO Rob van Gils participated in the panel discussion titled “Recycling equals Resilience – Securing Europe’s Sovereignty through Circular Raw Materials.” The discussion centered on the question of how the circular economy and aluminum recycling can help reduce Europe’s dependence on raw material imports and strengthen its industrial base in the long term.

Material Selection Becomes a Strategic Decision

The discussions at ALUMINIUM 2026 made one thing clear: particularly in industries where security of supply and resilience play a central role, material decisions have long since ceased to be based solely on price. Properties such as performance, weight, durability, and processability are just as relevant as regulatory requirements and the reliable availability of the material.

Aluminum, a recyclable material, offers environmental and strategic advantages that are becoming increasingly relevant.

Reliability as the Foundation for Innovation

However, the increased focus on stable supply chains and long-term partnerships does not mean that the HAI Group is sacrificing speed and innovation. The company is continuously expanding its product portfolio in line with new market requirements.

One example of this is aluminum busbars and power rails for applications in data centers and electrification. Increasing electrification and the rapidly growing demand for high-performance infrastructure are creating new requirements for conductive, lightweight, and easily processable materials. With expertise in extrusion, a high degree of vertical integration, and comprehensive aluminum know-how, HAI is tapping into additional application areas in this field.

Personal Interaction Remains Crucial

In addition to strategic industry topics, the ALUMINIUM 2026 trade show focused primarily on direct contact with customers and partners. The HAI Group’s diverse trade show team held numerous discussions in Düsseldorf regarding existing projects, new applications, and future requirements for the aluminum industry.

“Especially in an environment characterized by rapid change and uncertainty, personal interaction becomes even more valuable. The discussions at ALUMINIUM 2026 demonstrated how important reliable partnerships, technological expertise, and the joint development of sustainable long-term solutions are,” summarizes Rob van Gils.
