Wrought alloys
In two of the most modern and flexible foundries in Europe, we produce extrusion billets, rolling slabs and cast alloys (as two-piece ingots). With our plants in Austria and Romania, we can react quickly and flexibly to the individual demands of our customers. We see our strengths in the exhaustive spectrum of alloys, the intensive cooperation with the customer and the fast production of special products. Sustainability and efficient recycling are just as important in this as supply reliability over the whole life cycle of a product.

Automotive body components
HAI’s entire know-how is applied in highly condensed form here – from the casting of the ingots, the alloying process, through the extrusion of crash-relevant profiles, including testing, right up to the finished, bent or joined part. Our service spectrum is rounded off by meticulous planning and professional project management. We impress in particular through our process, part and technology development. Efficient logistics and our effective quality management speak for themselves.
Everything from a single source!
We attach particular importance to the production of crash-relevant materials, with the highest demands being made on the ductility of these materials. We tirelessly search for new solutions, and are already happy to face the challenges of the future today. Intelligent lightweight construction and e-mobility are major fields of activity here.
Gloss products
As a supplier of intermediates, we concentrate on the production of profiles for decorative applications. The components are used as trims and functional strips in vehicle interiors. Special casting processes enable us to guarantee the highest purity of the materials. The aluminium ingots produced in-house are extruded on presses from 800 to 4,000 t to produce the intermediates. The clean and gentle handling and application-specific heat treatment also play an important role. Materials of various purity classes (Al 99.7 to Al 99.9) have been tried and tested and are now used successfully in automotive series production. We produce all the demanded gloss levels – from roof rails, through intermediates for door and roof trims, right up to bezels of all kinds for guide ribs. Different surface finishes can also be taken into consideration.

The production of a very wide range of products for the building sector has been an important core competence of HAI for over 20 years. Thanks to our wide variety of presses, we can easily cover practically all the demands of the building industry.
Metal construction systems
From the smallest glazing strip, through to thermally insulated window or large façade profiles: In the series production and project sectors, we have been delivering with short lead times for many years. We can justifiably claim to be a one-stop provider in the building sector.
Interior design, fair construction and furniture making
Here again: We are happy to face the high demands on surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
Sun shading
In the sun shading sector, we produce profiles for guide rails, roller blinds, louvres, awnings, external venetian blinds and insect protection.

Our competence in aluminium extrusion is crucial in meeting the ever-growing demands of electrical engineering. The production of complex heat sinks is a particular speciality of HAI. The in-house know-how for extrusion tools allows us to produce high-performance heat sinks with particularly close, thin cooling ribs up to a rib ratio of 18:1 (length: distance between the ribs). As a further speciality, we offer highly conductive materials for power systems. Furthermore, our products are also used in lamps and lights, for cable ducts or electronic housings. Particular attention is also paid to a decorative surface. Here again, we strive to offer our customers ideal solutions.
Products:
• Profiles for lamps and lights
• Profiles for control cabinet housings
• Busbars for elements of power systems
• Housings for electric motors
• Battery housings for industrial applications
• Cable ducts for electrical installation systems
• Electronic housings
• Profiles for workplace systems
• Heat sinks and heat exchangers

We supply to all the leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles. Our aluminium profiles are light, corrosion-resistant and functional – and they impress with their intelligent form. Thanks to intensive investments in large FSW installations (up to 16 metres in length), we are today able to produce complete friction-stir-welded platforms or side walls. Our product portfolio includes side-wall profiles, bulkheads or rear walls, ramps, platforms of all kinds, as well as reinforcement and floor profiles (also complete friction-stir-welded vehicle floors). Everything from a single source – that is an important HAI quality feature that we stand by: From the starting materials produced in our casthouse, through the production of profiles, right up to the finishing, including large FSW installations for panel production.

Our supply and service spectrum ranges from extruded and machined profiles, through welded components, right up to the production of whole vehicle bodies. The innovative friction stir welding process (FSW) enables us to use highly efficient manufacturing processes. Even large components up to a maximum format of 3.5 x 16.0 m are no problem. Whole side walls, intermediate floors, roofs and air conditioning panels can be easily produced today. Even thick-walled components – such as coupler housings, main cross members and head sections – are reliably produced. Weld thicknesses up to 30 mm are possible.
Project
Quite recently, we were able to produce a total of 96 vehicle bodies within 18 months – format of the finished wagon (L/W/H): 9 x 2.2 x 2.4 m. We welded predominantly in-house profiles to form preassembled components (floor, side walls, roof) using the FSW process. The components were subsequently milled and assembled in our in-house machining centre. Thanks to the low heat input with the friction-stir-welding process, subsequent straightening and grinding could be almost completely eliminated.
